ART Restorative Treatment for dental caries

Atraumatic Restorative Treatment is a new approach to the management of dental caries that should be part of every dentist's armamentation. Since neither the dental drill nor a local anaesthetic are normally used, it is extremely well received by patients. It's applications range fromyoung children to the elderly and can be provided both in the traditional clinic setting and in outreach situations. This important new book serves to explain the background to the ART approach in the context of recent advances in the understanding of caries and the use of modern adhesive dental materials. An illustrated and detailed step-by-step guide is provided to assist dentists in obtaining optimal results with this approach. The book explains how ART can help in the practice building process and discusses future directions for ART. The book is written by Jo Frencken and Christopher Holmgren. Both authors have extensive experience in the ART approach and have lectured extensively on ART on five continents of the earth.
