Arise Dental Missions
Dr. Dee and Janet Danner

Dental Missions use dentistry to show God's love and share the Gospel. Instead of going to a third world country and providing dental services to a few and then leaving, our vision is to train Christian nationals to do dentistry so the work can continue once we leave. Arise Dental Missions is an associate ministry of Arise. Dee Danner is a licensed dentist in the state of Virginia and has been practicing dentistry since 1976. Janet, his wife, is a board certified dental assistant and is certified to perform mission dentistry. Together, they have served on many mission-related dental teams in restricted access countries around the world.

Our Mission: The Lord has been leading us to use dentistry, a much needed service, to show His love and share the Gospel. Instead of going to a third world country and providing dental services to a few and then leaving, our vision is to train Christian nationals to do dentistry so the work can continue once we leave.

Our Portion: The restorative technique we teach is called Alternative Restorative Treatment. It is approved by the World Health Organization and is an accepted practice in the United States. All of the supplies that are needed for the procedure can be carried in a back pack. No electricity or expensive equipment is necessary. It is basically pain-free. The patient is gently and lovingly cared for and leaves with a smile. No medical background is necessary in order to be trained to use this procedure. Rather, the operator can build a relationship and trust with their patient.

We also teach simple extractions of teeth to selected students after they have taken the ART course and proven their abilities to practice quality care in the mission field over a specific period of time. We aspire to maintain a high standard of dentistry. We only provide dental instruments to students that satisfactorily pass our course and meet the standards mandated by our parent organization, Arise Medical Missions. Each student is required to sign a statement that they will never charge for dental services that they provide as this is a gift of service and love from the Lord.

How You Can Help: If you wish to volunteer by serving with Arise Dental Missions or if you’re able to provide quality used dental equipment and supplies, please contact us at info@arise.ms.
